Problem with Ubuntu 12.04.x LTS and SAMSUNG 530U3C,np700z5c laptop

March 8, 2014

A bug found in the firmware on Samsung laptop: SAMSUNG 530U3C,np700z5c and others models,
it leaves machines at risk of being rendered inoperable (“bricked”) when booted in UEFI mode.

The most safely Ubuntu version is 12.04.4 LTS to be migrated/used, but only a future firmware update from Samsung can resolve 100% this problem.
Also the Utuntu recommend users boot their Samsung systems in CSM (“compatibility support module”) mode.
